Interfab DuroBeam boards can be used with LaMesa fiberglass bases or with 18" U Stands. This board also replaces most existing 2 hole boards. The hole spacing is 12" on center. Always use the properly sized fiberglass base or the properly spaced U Stands for the length board you are installing. The board must meet the ANSI/NSPI-5 pool type for the size and model board you are installing
WELCOME TO THE SAFETY SECTION of our web site... here you can find lots of great resources about pool safety and helpful hints.
First off... It helps to understand that “EVERY INGROUND POOL IS A DIVING POOL”
It means that people have an instinct to dive headfirst into water. You notice this instinct at the beach when people dive head first into very shallow water.
It also means that people are going to dive headfirst into your inground pool as well. The vast majority of all diving accidents happen in the shallow end of pools or natural bodies of water, so how do you keep people from getting hurt diving from the edge into your pool?
Have a pool built that safely accommodates a diving board... then don't allow anyone to dive into the pool from anywhere but the diving board. If you do, you can greatly reduce the chances of someone being injured diving into your pool. The presence of a diving board also indicates the safe place to dive.
However, does not mean that every inground pool can safely accommodate a diving board. Pools with diving boards have to meet strict water safety envelope standards. Never install a diving boardon an existing pool until a qualified contractor can measure the pool and determine if that pools meets the standards necessary for a diving board. However, if you are considering adding the wonderful lifestyle of a pool to your backyard then consider having a diving pool built.
Your inground pool might not be deep enough for a diving board but it might meet the depth and width requirements for a pool slide. A pool slide encourages younger swimmers not to dive into the pool by offering an alternative way to have lots of fun. As with a diving board do not install a slide on a pool until the pool has been measured to ensure it meets the water safety envelope standards.
Sorry.... diving, diving boards and pool slides are not permitted on any above ground pool. Never allow anyone to dive into an above ground pool.
Not all pool slides are created equal. Click the below link, Find out why Inter-Fab slides are far superior in design and safety to anything else on the market.
Not only should you dive from a diving board but you should also do it correctly. See the below graphic of a correct dive. Also use the below link to the APSP (Association of Pool and Spa Professionals) "Plan Your Dive, Steer Up" brochure. This small brochure has a wealth of information about how to correctly dive.
